A Dog’s Gift is a dog novel wrapped inside a coming-of-age story with two orphaned French teenage refugees who are sent to the wrong home by a corrupt judge. It is a tale of struggle, survival, forgiveness, and redemption during the final days of World War I, leading up to Christmas Day of 1918.
